Actress Sues Harvey Weinstein and The Weinstein Company for Sexual Battery
Harvey Weinstein was just sued by an actress. She claims he took her to a fancy Beverly Hills hotel, masturbated in front of her, and eventually raped her.
The actress- who remains nameless in the lawsuit, and will be referred to as Jane Doe, doesn’t define the nature of her relationship with Weinstein. She says they met in 2011 and attended events together over the next few years.
Jane Doe alleges that she met up with Weinstein in 2015, at the Montage hotel to discuss a job on a show called “Marco Polo.” She doesn’t mention where exactly the incident happened, but we can assume that it was in a hotel room.
She alleges that Weinstein gripped her wrists with one hand and used the other to masturbate in front of her until he was finished.
She also says she met him again at the Montage in 2016 to “celebrate her upcoming role in ‘Marco Polo.’’ She says Weinstein excused himself, came back into the room wearing a bathrobe, grabbed her, threw her on the bed, pulled down her jeans and began performing oral sex on her. She said she pushed him off and ordered him to stop, but he used his “massive weight and strength” to force himself on her, and penetrated her without a condom.
She says she never even got the “Marco Polo” role.
Jane Doe is now suing Harvey Weinstein, as well as the Weinstein Company- for sexual battery and gender violence. The actress claims the company was aware of Weinstein’s pattern of promising jobs to entice actresses to engage in sexual acts.
Weinstein’s rep says his client denies any allegations of non-consensual sex. “Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances. Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual.”
