Bindi Irwin seems to be following in her famous father’s footsteps! The 18-year old daughter of Steve Irwin, the late Australian wildlife conservationist, is keeping her father’s nature-centered legacy at Australia Zoo. The Irwin family-owned zoo is in Beerwah, about 50 miles north of Brisbane, Queensland’s state capital.
In her latest shared video, Bindi is feeding a crocodile – and showing no fear about it! The video, which was posted on her Instagram account on Wednesday, she’s dangling a piece of raw meat over a large crocodile’s mouth. Although a barricade separates her from the sharp-toothed reptile, she gets a little too close for comfort.
But she’s Steve’s daughter so it’s just another day in her life! She even tells the croc, “Woo! Well done!” while enthusiastically clapping her hands.
Her father was also known for such dangerous antics, even getting into trouble with childcare experts when he was shown holding Bob while feeding chicken carcass to a saltwater crocodile. Bob, of course, is Bindi’s younger brother.
Bindi as well as her mother, Terri, and brother, Bob, are currently in the Land Down Under for the summer season. She’s kicking off the season by hosting several live shows at the Australia Zoo. The stars: Crocodiles, what else!
The Australian singer, actress, and television personality as well as conservationist, has certainly led an interesting life than most teenagers. Aside from her involvement in show business, she has also made an instructional fitness DVD and was declared champion during the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars (U.S.).
Bindi was just a young girl – her name, by the way, means “young girl” in Australian Aborigine language – when her father died in a tragic accident in September 4, 2006. Along with her family and friends, she commemorated his 10-year death anniversary in private and public, mainly through social media.
During Australia’s Father’s Day, she wrote, “You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe.”
Bindi’s set to surprise us with more of her adventures in 2017 by the looks of it!
