Celine Dion, to Perform a New Song for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Let it be known that there is a new Disney classic in the works.
While anticipation grows for the new Disney live-action film, Beauty and the Beast, fans received word that it will have heavenly music.
E! News confirms that Céline Dion will be performing an original song entitled “How Does a Moment Last Forever?” for the upcoming Disney film, Beauty and the Beast.
Fans need to extend their patience a little longer. The new track composed by Alan Menken (eight-time Academy award-winning composer) and Tim Rice (lyricist) is said to be an “emotional ballad about holding onto life’s precious moments.”
This announcement come about twenty-five years after Celine sang the duet version of the song “Beauty and the Beast” with Peabo Bryson. The two sang this after the 1991 Disney animated film was released. The said version eventually won a Grammy award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or a Group. It is a beautiful thing that Celine Dion would be singing for the same fairy tale film under the same animated film company. It will surely become another hit.
“Being part pf the original Beauty and the Beast was such a magical experience in my life… And I’m truly honored to be part of this film again,” Celine shared enthusiastically in a press release.
“Celine was the unanimous choice of the filmmakers and studio to perform this song… And everyone involved with the film is thrilled she agreed to be part of this new live-action adaptation,” Mitchell Leib, President of Music for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production, commented. Considering Celine’s busy schedule as an artist, a wife, and a mother, it was a huge event when she said yes to the offer. It is a momentous event for the filmmakers as well, because Celine was also in the original animated movie.
Just recently, Disney confirmed that John Legend and Ariana Grande will be part of the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack as well.
“True as it can be… @JohnLegend and @ArianaGrande will perform ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as the title track in the film’s upcoming live-action adaptation,” the studio confirmed via Instagram.
