Welcome to the Crime Scene, where we are happy to post news and messages from your favorite authors. We have some fun news this week!
Keith Snyder is busy: this year's Bouchercon will have something new -- a musical theme! Though
he's known to the mystery community as an author, Keith Snyder (SHOW
CONTROL, COFFIN'S GOT THE DEAD GUY ON THE INSIDE, TROUBLE COMES BACK) is
also a composer. To hear his contribution to Bouchercon in Real Audio,
visit the Bouchercon web site at:
http://www.execpc.com/~piesbook/bouchercon99.html
Keith is also now selling a CD of music and stories, "Words in Time," at
his web site. It includes text by Keith (including a sneak preview of
TROUBLE COMES BACK, the next Jason Keltner book), CA Mobley, and members of
the L.A writing group Fred, as well as Keith's own songs. It was produced
at Woolly Mammoth, his basement recording studio, with "lots of
synthesizers and digital stuff." "Words in Time" costs $12, and ships
hand-labeled. Keith will include his Bouchercon theme on his CDs by
request. A web page serves as the liner notes. Visit
http://www.woollymammoth.com/keith/music.
Elizabeth Daniels Squire writes: The first book in my absent-minded sleuth series, WHO KILLED
WHAT'S-HER-NAME?, is out in large print from Thorndike's G.K. Hall paperback
series. There have been many requests for this. Because my mysteries help
people to chuckle about memory glitches, they are naturally popular with
older folks. In fact, they are full of memory tricks that readers of all
ages say they enjoy using. Many have said they wished Peaches Dann would
appear in large print to accomodate relatives and friends with weakening
eyesight. So I'm glad that moment has come.

Sara Hoskinson Frommer extends an invitation to her readers: I'm going on the road in Ohio Memorial Day weekend.
I'll be at Foul Play mystery bookstore, 27 E. College, Westerville OH
43081 Thursday, May 27 at 3 p.m.. (888)376-7163 or (614)818-CLUE
I'll drop in at the Co-op while at my 40th Oberlin College reunion. No
scheduled signing, but I'll sign stock, and I'll be easy to identify all
that weekend, with my 40th ribbon. Remember when your college used to
keep all the undergraduates off the grass so it would look good for the
creaky old alums on graduation weekend? Now I'm one of the creaky old
alums.
And I'll speak at Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills,
Dayton OH 45419 Tuesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. (937)294-8572
