“Dance Moms” Star Reacts to her Prison Sentence
Abby Lee Miller breaks down in tears as the Judge says, “Lock her up.” The Dance Moms star was officially sentenced to prison for one year and one day. Before her sentence hearing this week, Miller shared her fears about being “physically abused or raped” while in prison. Now that this became a reality in her life, what is going through her head? “I feel relieved,” she said after her sentencing. “I feel peaceful.”
The Judge was quoted as saying, “Somehow you got caught up in the fame and lost your moral compass.”
She felt a lot less peaceful by the time she sat down with Good Morning America for her interview Wednesday morning.
The 50-year-old began the interview by dispelling newspaper headlines that claimed she attempted to hide $775k in income. She said she didn’t “intentionally” conceal the money, adding, “I don’t want to hear that number anymore.”
After that, she tried to bring levity to the interview, joking that her one year and a day sentence sounds like a movie title. “I’m just going to pretend I’m shooting a movie and we’re on set and I’m there for 10 months, and that’s how it’s going to be.”
All jokes aside, the reality star said she plans to learn Spanish and get a lot of reading done, as well as writing a new book.
It sounds like she’s taking the difficult time ahead in stride.
