| The depths of the oceans hold many secrets and Jack Howard and his teams of underwater archaeologists hope to uncover most of them and bring them to the surface, at any cost. The legend behind this adventure is that of Claudius, the Roman Emperor (54 AD) who was poisoned. There are those that say that Claudius faked his death, met with Jesus in Galilee, wrote about the meeting and then hid the scroll to protect Jesus, but in the wake of the eruption of Vesuvius, the scroll was lost.
Off the coast of Sicily, the erudite Jack and his crew believe they have uncovered the shipwreck of St. Paul the Apostle. While they are confirming this discovery, Jack is called to Herculoaneum by a colleague who thinks he has found the secret home of Claudius and has uncovered a secret room that may contain the secret scroll written in the hand of Jesus.
As always, there are those within the Church and from outside that would prefer these secrets stay a secret and will stop at nothing to ensure Jack and his colleague Costas keep these secrets to avoid changing millennia old truths.
Comparisons to Indiana Jones and Dan Brown are easy, but Jack is such a thinker and there is so much scholarship crammed into the novel that the adventure is often an after-thought. A thorough prologue and epilogue help place this modern adventure in history. Jack and his crew are dependable investigators and are very enthusiastic about their latest assignment.
Chasing the lost writings of Jesus around the world, Jack and Costas encounter life threatening peril but will stop at nothing to protect the past and future of Christianity, if not the world.
