Jonathan Graves is hired to deliver three million dollars to villains in the jungles of Mexico in exchange for four adults and six children who are on a mission from huge Crystal Palace Cathedral in Scottsdale, Arizona. When the group arrived in Mexico as volunteers to help victims of a recent earthquake, they were taken hostage by notorious drug-cartel leader Felix Hernandez.

Helping Graves is his long time friend Brian Van de Meulebroeke aka Boxers. At the time of what is supposed to be a rather straight-forward exchange, a third set of people arrive sabotaging the mission and killing all of the hostages except one - Tristan Wagner.

CIA Agent Trevor Munro, working with Hernandez and Reverend Jackie Mitchell, has divulged not only the plans of the mission but the escape route. This thwarts the efforts of Scorpion (Graves) and Big Guy (Boxers) in an attempt to capture and kill them as revenge for one of their prior missions.

Damage Control follows Jon and Boxers thru the jungles of Mexico as they try to return Tristan to the US. Meanwhile, back in Fisherman's Cove, Virginia, Mother Hen aka Venice Alexander is the technical expert who provides assistance along with Gail Bonneville (Lady Justice) a former member of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team now working for Jonathan's Company - Security Solutions.

John Gilstrap has written three prior novels featuring Jonathan Graves starting with No Mercy where Gail Bonneville was introduced. Jon, who changed his name from Gravenow because his father was associated with organized crime, returns in his role as the single, rich, ex-Delta Force protagonist who specializes in hostage rescue and utilizes the latest in expensive gadgetry. Damage Control is both intriguing and very entertaining. Discover a new author and a new thriller hero while you're waiting for the next Jack Reacher book. My recommendation is to begin with No Mercy and read all the John Gilstrap novels featuring Jonathan Graves.
