The Ceremonial Monarch’s Granddaughter Zara Tindall Is Expecting The Second Baby


Another celebrity is pregnant in 2016.

News that Zara Tindall is expecting her second child with her husband Mike Tindall has spread like wildfire. According to the BBC, the family’s spokesperson announced on November 30 that the Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter is in her second trimester and her expected date of delivery is around late spring.

The statement released by a Buckingham Palace spokesman reveals that the Queen, all members of the Royal Family and the Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.

He said, “The Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen and all members of the Royal Family are delighted with the news.”

Zara, who is turning 36 in 2017, is the second-eldest grandchild of the ceremonial monarch and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. She is the daughter of Captain Mark Phillips and Princess Royal Anne. The expectant mom is currently 16th in line to succeed her respected grandmother.

She is has a highly successful and distinguished career in equestrian sport. She won silver at the London Games in 2012 and become the first member of the royal family to win an Olympic medal. She is a cousin to Prince Harry and Prince William. She narrowly missed out on the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The pregnant celeb’s husband, Mike, was born on 18th October 1978 in West Yorkshire. He is the eldest son of a rugby player turned banker for Barclays, Philip Tindall and a social worker, Linda Shepherd.

A former rugby player, Mike was one of the members of the England rugby team that beat Australia in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final. Mike also played outside center for Gloucester Rugby and Bath Rugby and has also captained the England national rugby union team.

Zara and Mike got married on 30th July 2011 at a ceremony which was conducted at Edinburgh church. After the marriage, Miss Phillips announced that she will retain her precious maiden name for commercial and sporting reasons. Their royal wedding happened just three months after the high-profile wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

The royal baby, who will not hold any royal title, will be the couple’s second child after their 2-year-old daughter, Mia Grace. The baby will be the monarch’s sixth great-grandchild, a second cousin to Prince William and wife Kate’s children, Prince George, 3-year old, and 18-month-old Princess Charlotte.
